While the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world as we know it for the foreseeable future, we at the Vision movement remain determined to continue educating students and young professionals to see themselves as active participants in Jewish history.

We are currently in the month of Iyar - a month featuring important holy days that were added to the Hebrew calendar in the past century as a result of actions taken by idealistic young Jews. The Zionists who brought our people home, the freedom fighters who ended British rule over our land, and the soldiers who liberated Jerusalem in 1967 were all passionate young adults who understood themselves to be characters in a story much larger than themselves.

The central message of both Yom HaAtzmaut and Yom Yerushalayim with which our movement and magazine work to empower students and young professionals is that each of us has the potential to contribute to Jewish history in such a way that could add new festivals to Israel's calendar.

This is the essential message that makes Vision is the most impactful movement on the Jewish scene when it comes to deepening identity and commitment to Israel's future.

Like most organizations, we have recently moved nearly all of our programs and activities online in order to continue operating as effectively as possible within the confines of the current reality. As a result, we are proud to have found that our many years of educational experience has prepared us to be successful under these new conditions.

As a lean educational organization with years of experience inspiring bright young Diaspora Jews (from across the political spectrum) to become characters in Israel’s story, we now have the ability to scale up and reach larger audiences than ever before. As we have the advantage of a deep compelling message that penetrates the hearts and minds of idealistic young Jews, our voice can now be heard alongside the larger organizations.

Tomorrow, Tuesday May 5, is an international day of giving - to bolster and support organizations that have been hit financially during these uncertain times. As much of our organization’s income comes from speaking engagements, we are among the organizations most severely hit, but we are determined to continue our work.
