Under the direction
of Sharona eshet-Kohen, the Vision movement has been focused on developing the application of transnational and postcolonial feminist theory to the issues most directly confronting Jewish women. These critical feminist theories provide the necessary tools to achieve the following goals:
1)
Empowering Jewish women who see themselves as loyal to the worldview and traditions of their ancestors in order to identify which issues they want to address, and to seek solutions that stem from within their own culture.
2)
Encouraging allies who wish to see change in traditional Jewish communities to understand, support, and empower women working for change within their own spaces to do so without compromising their core identities or beliefs.
3)
Training a critical mass of young Jewish leaders in postcolonial feminist theory and practical organizing techniques so as to enable them to take the lead in finding solutions to some of the most pressing issues confronting women in their communities.
