Why do the children of
Israel celebrate the seventh night of Pesaḥ (referred to by Rav Sa’adya Gaon as "Ḥag HaShmada" – the “Festival of Destruction”)?
In order for the Jewish people to truly be free, it is not enough to be liberated from physical slavery. We must also liberate ourselves from mental slavery.
